This past weekend London City Airport’s fire service football team won the London Fire Brigade Football Tournament. The tournament in its first year running was held at Eltham park with 20 teams participating in the sweltering heat.
The Airport was on form throughout the intense tournament and played 8 games winning the final with a score of 4 to 2. Tolo Mas, Captain of the airport team commented, “ The team is delighted with this win. Our performance during the tournament was fantastic especially considering we never played together as a 5 a side team. This was a great effort and achievement by all.”
In June the airports team won the 2010 Airport European Football Tournament (AEFT) and were crowned the champions of the 14th AEFT.
